In the Historic Stock Car Feature there was the usual bumping and drafting back in the pack, but not up front. Up front there were no position changes from flag to flag with Wayne Otto, '99 Lumina, easing away from the field from the start. Dale Phelon's '00 Monte Carlo didn't sound as strong as it usually does when it passed me, but it was running well enough to secure second place. Rounding out the top three on the track was Maurice Hull's '88 Cutlass, but post race inspection found it to be underweight moving Jack Finches '91 Cutlass into third. GM cars dominated the Historic Stock Car race taking the top five positions. Dale Phelon's 00 Monte Carlo led from the start, and while it wasn't a cake walk, held the lead to the end. Second at the start was Scott Murphy's 93 Grand Prix, with Gene Felton's 96 Monte Carlo third. Murphy's race turned out to be a short one, retiring after the first lap moving Felton up into second and Wayne Otto's 99 Lumina third. Phelon was able to open up a bit of a gap when Murphy retired, but Felton and Otto battled right to the wire, but with no position changes. (From Race Review by, Bob Harrington)
Dale Phelon had his '97 Thunderbird well dialed in for the Historic Stock Car race taking control at the start and never relinquishing it. Wayne Otto, '99 Lumina had a firm grip on second while Pierre Mulacek, '98 Monte Carlo held off John Cloud's '94 Thunderbird to take third. (From Race Review by, Bob Harrington)
