Jack Finch Dodge Charger Thomasville, Nc. Jack’s racing began around 1992. He did driving schools with Car Guys and the Porsche Club. As the speeds got faster, he wondered how the street car, ( an 84 Porsche 911 Turbo),would survive if it hit the wall at Charlotte at 150 MPH. These kinds of speeds headed him toward a stock car and in December of 1994 he took the plunge and purchased a 1993 Terry Labonte, Kelloggs Lumina from Billy Hagan who had a Winston Cup shop in Thomasville, NC. He continued to go to Car Guys, but the Porsche Club for some reason did not embrace his new ride. During that first year of getting familiar with #14 Lumina he met ,and became friendswith Aaron Dudley, whose knowledge of stock cars is legendary. In February 1995 he hired Aaron and they have worked together ever since. Jack started driving in HSR in March at Sebring that year and has continued ever since. He also owned and raced an Allison Legacy Car in 1996 and 1997. In 2004 Scott Murphy and Jack competed in the SCCA at the national level in GT1 Corvettes. They both qualified to go to the runoffs at Mid Ohio in September, and both ran well there. Jack just turned 55 and says he plans to race until he is 70. |
